But how do you measure it?

Dollars per gram of protein?

Figures are approximate:

Egg:  $0.5/6 = 1.08
Chicken:  $3.29/82 = 0.04
Ground beef:  $6/65 = 0.09
Pork:  $6/123 = 0.05
Tofu:  $2.79/31.5 = 0.09
Dry beans:  $1.19/91 = 0.01
