Last time I had fish sticks was when my mother made Mrs. Paul's about 1960. Never bought or made tarter sauce. I never felt deprived though. My comment was actually more about the frozen fish sticks than it was the homemade tartar sauce. I haven't found any frozen fish sticks worth spending money on in years. Homemade tartar sauce is kind of like putting lipstick on a pig. ;)Okey doke. I fail to see the need to make homemade tartar sauce for>
[presumeably] frozen fish sticks but hey, knock yourself out! I hope
you and your mom enjoy dinner. :)

2 reasons I can see.

1- One less thing to keep in stock. If you already have mayo and
pickles, you can omit adding Tartar sauce to your shopping list (then
carrying it to the car and from the car to your house).

2- BIG markup as opposed to making it. Takes really just mao and some
type of pickles (several types work). Optionally may add extra dill to
taste and.or mustard. Some add lemon juice to taste, I skip lemon and
use just a little pickle juice.
