Some are sweet an some are not.
Optionally may add extra dill to
taste and.or mustard. Some add lemon juice to taste, I skip lemon
and use just a little pickle juice.
Don't forget the capers.
While some try to be 'fancy' with them, they are horrrible little
things that have destroyed many another wise lovely tasting dish. They
definately would destroy a simple little dab of tartar sauce.
I agree with David though, a little fine minced onion works, even if
out of pickles.
