It was a pimento cheese sandwich and some fig bars for supper

I have to thank Joan again for reminding me about the Hambeens (brand)
15 bean dried soup mix. I bought another bag of it and have a pound of
diced smoked ham. I'll be making another pot of that in the crock pot
tomorrow. It was great the last time I made it so I have no doubt it
will be just as good this time. And yes, I'll be baking a skillet of
cornbread to go with it. :)

The ham will be great in those beans! I don't know when
you add meat to the beans, but I'd toss that package in
when I start the beans to give them great flavor and the
ham will be super tender.
Yes, last time I added the ham to the pot at the start and will do so again. The meat practically melds into the soup and imparts a lot of flavor. So I'll do that again.
I remember buying a bag of Hambeens 15-bean soup about 30 years ago and it was good. But for some reason I never bought it again until this year, after you had mentioned it a few times. I'm still wondering why I waited so long to buy it again, because it's so very easy and so very tasty! I cook it in the crock pot. Turned out beautifully the last time so I'll cook it that way again. And before anyone (Mike?) gets anxious, no, I do not turn on the crock pot and leave it unattended for hours. No worries about catching the house on fire. :)
