And like bullies often do, he brought along a second bully.  I've dealt with bullies a few times.  Once was pretty funny.  During lunch in 9th grade, I happened upon three bullies who were threatening to throw this little nerdy guy into the girls' restroom.  I happened to be very hopped up on trucker speed (ephedrine), and felt pretty invincible.  I asked them what they thought they were doing.  They said they were going to throw the kid into the girls' restroom.  I told them that I knew that kid, and I knew he'd never do anything to deserve being picked on, which was true.  One asked, "You wanna go in there?"  I replied, "Buddy, I've already *been* in there."  That threw them off their game, and they left.
I'd known that kid since grade school, and while we were never friends because he was very straight laced, and I was a weirdo, we shared a love for science.
