Eggs last three to five weeks.  Or you can freeze them (details
available on the web).

I'm not panicked.  Sure, paying $5.89 for a dozen eggs made me
raise my eyebrows last week.  Those were the slightly fancy
"Eggland's Best" eggs, the taste of which my husband prefers.
I could have got regular eggs for $5.59.  These are size large,
which is satisfactory for our uses.

Eggs are $3.50- $4 in grocery stores around here. My wife gets them from
our neighbour and pays $7. They are fresh and free range and she prefers
them.  I am fine with the cheaper ones. Our neighbour even delivers
them. Every Friday morning she leaves a dozen eggs on our doorstep.
There's two kinds of eggs in Hawaii. Mainland eggs and local eggs. The
local eggs has a more orange yolk. It presents a more appealing egg when
cooked over easy. I can't say if it's more tasty than mainland eggs.
Local eggs have traditionally been more expensive than mainland eggs.
The same thing is true with milk. The local milk is 2 or 3 bucks more
than mainland milk. My guess is that the mainland milk is shipped over
here frozen. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between mainland
and local milk - but then, I'm no milk connoisseur.
