 I have to admit that even though it is only a 15 minute drive from my house I have no plans to go there. I have little interest in paying a fortune for a meal where it takes the server longer to describe the course than it does to eat it.
 

It is a splurge but certainly would not replace my local pizza place. I've been to a few very memorable places.  It is not just the food, it is an experience as soon as you walk in the door.
Like the Inn at Princeton many years ago.  They seated you in like a living room, brought cocktails and the waiter discussed the menu with you. Nice place to relax.  When dinner was ready, you were escorted to your table.
The private room at Chez Pierre was a treat.  Others though we must be celebrities in a special room.
