there's nothing there to sustain them. even if they build
a colony there it is highly unlikely they'll make it. first
we need a colony on the moon which can sustain itself, but
really once you get out of a gravity well like the planet
earth there is little sense in going down another and
especially for a planet that isn't very compatible with life
to begin with (no magnetosphere to protect from radiation,
not much atmosphere, no easy water, temperatures very cold
much of the time, etc...).
