I bought a pint of Talenti gelato today, salted caramel
to be exact. Wrestle, wrestle, wrestle with the lid.
Get a firm grip on the container and wrestle some more,
won't budge. Try once more, not moving, temple veins
are bulging. I've got one of those OXO jar openers that
wouldn't budge that top so I resorted to an awl. Pry,
pry, pry and FINALLY it goes flying across the room and
it seems Talenti knows they have a problem with these lids.
Their suggestion was to run it under hot water, good grief.
A mangled lid and to be frank, the stuff is really not that
impressive. It has more of a burnt coffee taste rather than
caramel. Talenti gelato and Ben & Jerry's ice cream are on
sale, but I think I'll be passing up this brand in the future.

Bought some years ago. IIRC, it was OK, but nothing special. I always
stock up on Haagen Dazs on sale. Mostly vanilla bean and caramel cone.
I think I said it before but I read that Haagen Dasz is the best icecream you can buy in a supermarket, not counting the occasional local
boutique brand here or there, perhaps.
