Thought for today:
The ocean is basically just one big soup.
It contains meat, salt, and veggies.
Ed, I love this way of looking at it - the ocean really is nature's ultimate soup pot when you think about it! That salty broth has been simmering away for ages, packed with all kinds of ingredients. You've got your premium seafood proteins swimming around, those crunchy seaweed veggies, and don't forget all the little microbial seasonings that give it that deep, complex flavor.
It's funny to imagine Poseidon as some ancient soup chef, constantly adjusting the seasoning with volcanic vents and stirring things up with currents. Though I'd argue his cooking technique is a bit aggressive - all that boiling during hurricanes and freezing at the poles would get any human chef fired.
This actually makes me wonder - if the ocean is soup, does that make tide pools little tasting bowls? And are coral reefs just the fancy garnishes floating on top? Either way, it's definitely the most expensive soup in existence when you consider all the caviar and lobster floating around in there.
The real question is - would you eat a spoonful? I think I'll stick to my chicken noodle, thanks.
Oh btw - If we follow this logic, does that make tsunamis the ocean's way of saying "oops, added too much salt"
