I sometimes look at the Fox News website. There's not a bad word about
what's going on, just a picture of Trump with the text "WE WILL WIN".
That's all the information rednecks get, which is why they often come
across like aliens, like when Joan said that Zelensky had been
misbehaving towards Trump and Vance.

Zelensky wanted money and weapons but didn't want to sign
a mining deal to receive these 'gifts.' He kept dragging
his feet pretty much saying "I'll sign tomorrow, I'll sign
next week." I guess he never heard the saying "I'll scratch
your back if you scratch my back."

As in the Lend Lease Act of 1941 we supplied food and war
materials to Great Britain in return for us establishing
long-term military bases around the world. The Soviet
Union and some South American countries were also recipients
of our largesse.

Some of that material was paid for. The neat part of the Lend Lease
program was that it was for equipment and supplies to be used to act in
the interest of the US. It was a fight the could have and should have
got into earlier but there was a isolationist mindset, so the figured
they could provide the materials and let someone else do the fighting
and dying.

A good bit of the material was destroyed or simply worn out.
Some the debt was simply written off. But yes, the Lend Lease
Act was in the interest of the USA. The last of the bill the
Soviet Union paid off was in 1972 if I remember correctly and
some of their debt was written off. The last payment that
cleared the books with the U.K. was in 2006 if memory serves
me correctly.
