The remake of The Magnificent Seven wasn't horrible.  It just
wasn't necessary.  I would have preferred to see the cast in
something original.  Same thing for the recent remake of
3:10 to Yuma.
 
Those whippersnappers should just learn to love black-and-white
cinematography.

My thoughts may differ from others but I liked the remake of True Grit
much better than the original with John Wayne. Maybe it's because I
never thought much of John Wayne's acting skills.  He is one of a number
of Hollywood stars who made a good living playing the same character in
a few dozen different roles.

Some actors are a director's actor. Wayne was a redneck's actor.
