 A cop would be pretty pissed off if someone told him he had no weapons when he is actually well armed.
There have been a number of incidents where the public was outraged after a person was shot after brandished a replica gun of some type. Cops are trained to be alert and to react quickly to threats. Most of the time when cops get shot it is within seconds on initial contact.

Tell us more Dave.  How many times have perps shot at you when you were making an arrest?  It's good to hear your first hand experiences.
How many times were you injured in all those confrontations?
We're glad you were never killed!
