Force 1 747’s. Boeing has now said it cannot deliver those refurbished
jets until 2035...
Our military has said it wants a third 747 as backup. Now we have that
third jet on the way. If Boeing was capable of refurbishing a jet on
time, we wouldn’t need a gift from Qatar...
A Qatari official said the plane is technically being gifted from the
Qatari Ministry of Defense to the Pentagon, describing it more as a
government-to-government transaction instead of a personal one. The
Defense Department will then retrofit the plane for the president’s use
with security features and modifications...
It’s a used airplane. Two weeks ago, the transaction was reported by all
the major media outlets and reported as completely benign. Nothing about
the transaction has changed...
L3Harris Technologies and Boeing will be doing the rehab work L3Harris
will be tasked with refurbishing a previously Qatar-owned 747 to serve
as an interim replacement . They plan on sweeping to plane for bugs.

Two weeks later this is being spun as “out of the blue,” a
“terrorist-supporting” Qatar is “bribing Trump” with a free “$400
million” 747 for his “personal” use...

headline:
