Today it is 93 degrees with a "feels like" of 106. Thanks to Willis Carrier, I'm sitting in air conditioned comfort at my chosen temperature of 77. He came up with AC in 1902.
It's actually cooler here today, only 80°F with a "feels like" of 91°F. The office building where I work is air conditioned as is my house. Thanks to Mr. Carrier.
It was very hot outside, on the road with the sun on asphalt, it was 98 degrees. Thanks to Frederick McKinley Jones, my car is air conditioned also. He came up with the idea in 1937.
Thanks to Mr. Jones, too. I had to recharge the AC in my car a few years ago. It gets way too hot to be driving around in the Summer without AC.
It was bad enough living up north, many of us could not exist in FL without cooling.
Every year there are reports of people dying of heat stroke because their homes aren't cooled and it gets so hot inside, even with windows open and fans running, their bodies can't stay cool.
