I think organised religion's a mental illness.
It's because of man's ability to wonder about his place in the universe
and the knowledge that he's going to one day die. It's about the
creation in his mind, of a vision of time and space and the absolute
terror of it. Mankind has a very particular set of skills that can
result in an existential crisis that requires a religion to placate it.
One day, machines will probably create a religion of their own.
Hopefully, it doesn't include the killing of all humans.
