Any special dinner plans tonight on this 81st anniversary

Nothing special here, but I did pick up a tray of sushi
at the grocery store deli section. They have a person
in that area making it fresh everyday so I indulged and
just wolfed it down about 15 minutes ago. Yum!
Seafood sounds appropriate, something along the line of a cookout on the beach. We are having pan fried rainbow trout.
My father was not involved in D Day. He had not been involved in any air operations over Europe because of his having had interaction with the Danish Resistance. While he had been sent back to Canada for a while about a year earlier he had been sent back to the UK and worked as an instructor at a conversion unit. He had been sent back to Canada pending his next posting. That was to be Boundary Bay out in BC.
AAMOF On D Day my parents were on their honeymoon. They were married June 3, had a few days of honeymoon. As soon as they got back from the honeymoon Dad flew out to the west coast and my mother went out there by train.
After the war, how long did he serve in the RCMP in boundary bay? And was he buried in a Canadian military cemetery?
Always nice to know about these old heroes no longer with us. Often, they're just forgotten.
