Never thought about it.   I want an efficient layout, decent appliances.
 
When you say "faces" do you mean the stove?

   No. I mean the kitchen is on the north side of the
house.  The view from  the kitchen windows  is to the
North. The north is the coolest/ shadiest side of the
house.

   The stove is on an interior wall furthest from the
windows.
