No reason to kill an animal.  You can get lard at the Liposuction Clinic.

LOL Ed!  I use butter.  No cows are harmed.  Using olive oil (I read that in another post), even a mild olive oil, is not recommended for cornbread.
Damn, now I want to bake a skillet of cornbread. ;)
