Perhaps they have a general tendency to avoid bland seafood. My wife had
one of your favorite fish - saba and tempura teishoku.

Nice. I'd eat that gladly. I'd be stuffed to the gills, though. I
don't eat that much food even on Thanksgiving. Since I'm a honky,
I'd probably eat only a token couple of bites of the rice to
save room for the good stuff.
