Somewhat related, I saw the BBC series "The Colour of Magic" was on Prime, and watched the first episode or two, but production value was rather poor, and it felt a bit too 'high school production' overall. I feel like it doesn't translate well to the screen.

Wasn't The Colour of Magic just 2 episodes?
Anyway, I didn't like it. It was one of those adaptions that just felt wrong.
Oh wow, I must have only watched the first episode. Both episodes are around 1:30 so movie length.
Unfortunately Pratchett had a bit of bad luck with screen
adaptations (with the possible exception of Good Omens, where it helped that Neil Gaiman was involved).
Ah yes, I love Good Omens.
I think the Going Postal adaption was decent at least, and the Hogfather adaption seems to have become somewhat of a Christmas classic in UK, but both suffer from cutting out a lot.
Hogfather wasn't bad. So maybe they aren't that bad just The Colour of Magic was bad.
