McCartney And The Ox

"Paul [McCartney] walked into the control room while I was recording a
particularly fast, flashy solo.  After I had finished it, he came out to
the studio floor and said to me, 'That was very nice, but I bet you
can't pay country and western.'  I replied by playing a lightning-fast,
slapping bluegrass passage.  Paul muttered as he left, 'Flash cunt.'"

I've seen Entwistle do ultra-fast, percussive versions of country &
western basslines.  Guitarist Arlen Roth once thought he would challenge
Entwistle by asking him how he would play a country song.  Without
hesitating, Entwistle tapped out an impressive part.
