The recent mention of Beethoven's 6th reminded me of a distant memory
I have of hearing it for the first time as a child in 1960's England
and recognising a theme from it as one I knew from a TV show or
perhaps a radio show.
I decided to try and find out which show it was, but much Googling
has not turned up anything, so I'm wondering if my memory is playing
tricks on me.

It may also have been something that sounds like Beethoven 6, put
together by the composer of the soundtrack.
Yes, I suspect the explanation may be something like that.
I resorted to asking some chat bots, and Llama 3 suggested that
the show was "The Woodentops". I found some recordings of that
show on youtube and listened to its theme, but I'm not sure it's
similar enough.
