The problem really is phrasing, like… fucking hell, concentrate on the
singing — I mean the singer AND the orchestra… it’s like they don’t
really work together here as much as in other recordings besides the
phrasing being awful…
Listen to Berry in ein Mädchen oder Weibchen with Klemperer — how
beautiful he and the orchestra are tuned together, and all these little
nuances…
Okay I don’t need Fischers Zauberflöte nor any of levines — although I
will have to look into his 2017 met production…
