P.S. I thought it was excellent performance. There isn't any attempt at
glitter, it's fine music making. The opening theme, which sounds like a
painful request for relief which is expected by the supplicant to be
refused
(sorry for interjecting some programme into the music!), is full of
emotion.
BTW, I've listened to it 3 times so far.

Yes, I find it in some ways over dramatic maybe — i was at First caught
off guard by this (in a positive sense - i like the pacing), Not quite
Sure what to make out of it (one of the parts i thought were beautiful
or at least interesting (she seems to bring out some things more than
Eschenbach (also because of Pacing ofc), but maybe she accentuates too
much too often; just listened to it again)) — there is much more
innocence conceyed in how Eschenbach plays it… although id like it
played a Little slower; Olafsson is just super dry btw

I hadn't connected this work with innocence, more like guilt. But that
kind of
emotional richness is not something you usually expect from Yuja, and I
think
that's why both Dan and I reacted positively to it.
Yeah innocence is the wrong Word here probably, the sonata is too
Playful and impish at times though to me to Portray a Deep Sense of
guilt…
Maybe it’s more like a goodbye to viewing the world innocently, coming
to the realization that doing Good things doesnt always work out, and it
crumbles under your Hand, but its done in a Consoling and playful manner
— very melancholic, Full of longing, not so much if guilt i think…
Sehnsucht
(Or in the Sense of „I didnt want to hurt you, but I had to)
