Re: new Scelsi quartets album (Was: OT: Why the Jews?)

I'm still preparing updates to my web discussion of individual
Scelsi pieces accordingly, but the new Quatuor Molinari recording
on Atma is certainly worthwhile.  There's indeed the second recording
of No. 5 after all these years, although I'm still finding that
work more a curiosity than anything....  Quartet No. 1, in a more
traditional style, doesn't make a huge impression here either (v.
previously -- it's an interesting piece in its own way).  But the
middle group, the more "peak period" quartets are all given worthwhile
readings that at least bring out some new aspects.  And from my
notes, I'd moved on from Arditti already in preferences for Nos. 2
& 4, but not yet for No. 3, so that might be the most impactful for
the new set, at least initially....  Finally, that this recording
is in 24bit & 96 kHz is also welcome, often making harmonics &
undertones easier to hear.  (I often seem to enjoy e.g. the sound
of the cello especially in these higher sampling formats....)
