And secondly, what is the word for genocide   when the numbers don't quite stack up? Are   the 33,000 slaughtered in Gaza less dead. 

Genocide is not juat a matter of numbers. It  is a matter of the intent and purpose and the reasons for people getting killed. It is also a matter of whether those killed were innocent defenseless civilians not otherwise involved in military action.   The 33k (or 16.5k, or whatever number you like)  were not all "innocent civilians" by any stretch of the imagination. As far as we know many of them were Hamas fighters, or supporting civilians.
Like the Al-Jazeera "journalists" who were holding hostages for Hamas. During WWII millions of German and Japanese non-combatant civilians, including children, women and elderly, were killed by Allied and US bombing campaigns. No one has ever claimed this was "genocide". They were not killed because they were German or Japanese. They were killed because they were citizens or inhabitants of nations that waged was on the US, Russia and the UK.

Enquiring minds would like to know, but not from yourself or the two Nazi dolts here.
