It was after all a *mass* & Scherchen presents it as a deeply-felt, "spiritual" event. Very moving. However if you are looking for efficiency or the latest in scholarship, look elsewhere...

I have not found a substitute.

I did not know or correspond with Mr. Ventrone, but out of curiosity, I searched for information about him on the internet. (His middle initial was 'A' and he used to work for a certain company in Bedford, MA, USA.)
