Carter and his buddy Brzez are
almost single handedly responsible
for allowing the Iranian mess to
happen. They could have nipped
it in the bud by preventing
Khomeini's return to Iran and
by supporting the Shah and his
regime, rather than turning
against them. This is what
happens when peanuts are
elected presidents. It set
a very bad precedent.
As to Banana, he could have
learned the lessons of history,
if he were at all capable of
learning anything.
