It’s also ofc not completely true, that you don’t have any preconceived
ideas… so for example you get immediately Turned Off by sth that Sounds
mechanical, metronomical etc. (Adjectives you frequently use to
criticise Performances you don’t like — it‘s a Bit Of a cheap critique,
but most of the times I can See where You’re coming from)
So, all I‘m saying is: when you said x is the best Recording of y, and
you critiqued z for sounding mechanical, I listened to these Versions,
and could _empathize_ with your viewpoint. Sometimes Even without
explaining why you like sth more than sth else (sure we might have
different reasons for preference here)
Furthermore you explained you like light, coloratura voices with Little
vibrato (Hallstein) in Mozart…. Ahhh… so - based on your experience -
you actually have some preconceived ideas about how sth should Sound ;)
