It's annoying in Itunes that any album tagged as a
compilation, the artists involved will not show up
in the Artist search field.

That means I have to remove the "compilation" tag on
every thing I import, so I can see it in the Artist field.
And I have no way to search an album other than the
name of the album which produces results out of order,
with track titles in alphabetical order, which is
almost always wrong.

That means I cannot by voice, type, or click call up the
album to play, because itunes will only allow this
if a various artists album is tagged as compilation.

Know a way around this defect?

I'll probably go to switching to tagging compilations,
a damned annoying thing to have to do, meaning I
can no longer effectively browse the Artists Field.

As another note about how weak Apple engineering
is, is that fast forwarding and rewinding cannot cross
the beginning or end of a track, which CD players do
with ease.

A suggestion I have to tag a multi movement work is to
prefix the actual title each track with the appropriate
numerology: A composer's fifth symphony, for example, might be:

5.1
5.2
5.3
5.4

or the opus number or whatever number makes sense.

Classical music imports to itunes usually are tagged badly,
and my quickest fix is to prepend the number to each track.
