For 5, yes! I couldn't find a proper form for 1/.2.
5 = i*i*i*i + i*i*i*i + i*i*i*i + i*i*i*i + i*i*i*i + 2 - 2
This seems like a very silly puzzle without more clarity over what constitutes a "mathematical symbol". Of course the whole idea is to encourage such inventiveness in the responses, but hey, silly is silly... :)
And also:
5 = 5 + 2 - 2
What? Sure 5 is a mathematical symbol if i counts!
Or:
5 = Successor(Successor(Successor(Successor(Successor(2-2)))))
What? Sure Successor is a mathematical symbol, if log counts etc. etc. etc.
