Here's the timeline:
1. A collection of cretins gang up on John Henry
2. John Henry notices that search results for his name lead to Google
Groups
3. A suggestion is made that John Henry could complain to Google to get
this fixed
4. Google Groups turns off the Usenet faucet
Simple facts. Who knows what really happened. Sure, Usenet is archaic
and has been for decades now, but Google(/Deja) destroying the primary
web portal put the final nail in the coffin.
Did JH make that happen? The world will never know...
Iron-clad proof if there's ever been any. Even Google recognizes his importance.
