I wouldn't read too much into that; the program was interrupted, after all, so there's no reason to assume that it didn't catch the interrupt while in the process of moving from one consistent state to another.
It would be nice to let it run to completion, but of course there's a limit on how long I'm prepared to wait for nothing to happen.
