Power supplies and amplifiers, yes.  When high power-to-volume
densities are needed, and weight must be minimized, the royal road is
to higher voltages.

Lots of military stuff runs at 1000 Vdc (typically +/- 500 Vdc).


Well, North Carolina is an election battleground state.
