 There's a surprisingly common perception that "everything electronic is made in China" vs. the reality that China's semiconductor industry is 5-10 years behind the curve and for most every product with the word "CPU" or "GPU" in it they have a vanishingly small piece of the market.

Making the semiconductors is a relatively small part of the whole process of producing cheap electronic devices.
