Nuclear power beat renewables hands down on every metric - cost, reliability, carbon emissions, environmental impact - you name it, nuclear was better, to the point where it was not wrong to say that 'renewable grids will never work'.Except that when anybody tries to build a nuclear power plant it seems to take a lot longer, and cost a lot more, than the initial estimates.
