The only issue I have with ET is it doesn't always connect to
Thunderbird and once in a while this connection means I can't read a
message for a while. Seems to sort itself out after a bit though!

I'd been using Supernews for decades but they have become erratic,
sometimes dropping my insightful and amusing posts. We can't allow
that!
The day when as John Larkin is insightful and amusing has yet to dawn.
I use the Agent newsreader, which works pretty well.
Eternal September works for me, most of the time. I do share John Robertson's experience of having to wait for it display a post or post one of my messages.
