Close to ruin is when the bond markets force up interest rates for
dollar-denominated sovereign debt, forcing government repayments into
unsustainable territory and risk of default.
If you believe the US economy is "stronger than it ever was under
Trump" you must be getting your news from CNN or MSNBC/New York Times
or WaPo.
