I don't know for this particular application, but I have used Minwax Wood Hardener
to fix old plastic that had picked up a sticky feel. Wood Hardener is basically
Crazy Glue dissolved in acetone. Acetone can be destructive to some plastics, so you
need to be careful with it. I paint it on with a little paint brush and don't touch
it until I'm certain it is dried. Test it on a small spot before committing to it.
