How much of your electronics is made in Taiwan? Components, I mean,
not your final product.
TSMC makes most of the good chips in the world. Samsung is important
too.

“Back in 2020, thanks to President Trump’s vision and support, we
embarked on our journey of establishing advanced chip manufacturing in
the United States. This vision is now a reality," said TSMC Chairman
and CEO Dr. C.C. Wei.  Nice work, DT.
Donald Trump's contribution wasn't exactly large. Everybody seems to have thought that it was good idea, and Joe Biden seems to have supported it when he came to power.
Donald Trump is more into delusions than vision. His bizarre delusions about tariff's seem likely to wreck international trade, and his team's grasp of detail has him slapping tariffs on the non-existent exports from the uninhabited Heard Island south of Australia.

Apparently the tariff levels are set by the trade imbalance between the US and the country whose goods are being subject to tariff - producing goods that the US is willing to buy seems to be a punishable crime in his book.
