I converted this last computer from Supernews to Eternal September.
Eventually that sort of worked, but I could post to sed but never see
new posts, even my own.
So I applied the standard software fix, reboot the PC. That didn't
help.
Strangely, I could see new posts in two other ng's but none in sed.
Software these days makes no sense. One tries random weird things in
hopes of fixing bugs. In my case, I deleted sed from my subscribed
groups, looked it up in the ng directory, and reselected it. That
worked.
We are in the dark ages of computing.
You may well be. Most of us can get out computers to work, and know who to ask when they don't.
During the actual dark ages, you'd have had to go to the equivalent of a university library in Spain or the Middle East - real universities didn't get going until after the dark ages - and ask a Muslim scholar to tell you.
