I have an asus netbook, ca 2012, which claims you can only add 2GB RAm. But
8GB is $6 and 2GB is $30. Will it just ignore anything over 2GB or can it do
harm? Are there other uses for the "hidden" extra memory, ie "disk".
Without the model number, a specific answer won't be able to be given, however typically this is limited by chipset and CPU. You could look up the CPU specs.
The thing is probably gutless, is it worth it? How fast is the memory bus? Is the battery still serviceable?
I've got a broken Atom netbook here, that I'm considering removing the motherboard and replacing with a Raspberry Pi (or maybe two).
