I was replacing a small AC motor with a blade (Acme BB-700) and the
compression ring went flying when trying to transfer the fan blade to the new motor and I have been unable to find it. Similar to this:

The shaft is 3/16" but the ring is obviously larger and compresses the plastic of the notched fan blade once over the shaft like this:

$6+ for one of these rings seems outlandish. Where can I find one at a far more reasonable price, or is there something else I can substitute to keep the blade on the shaft? Someone once suggested a small hose clamp, but another individual said that the side where the clamp is tightened, being unbalanced because it weighs more then the opposite side, over time would ruin the motor.
Thanks in advance.
Will something like a Corbin clamp work?
