I observe that the kilt is singular - two legs, but only one hole.
Like the skirt, the dress, the petticoat.
It's a mystery why men don't wear a petticoat under
those itchy wool kilts.

In truth, I don't know what Scotsmen wear under their kilts, and I
shrink from enquiring.
The proverbial wind at the top of Waverley Steps might reveal all...
I can reveal all: at the somewhat drunken wedding feast of my kilted
Scottish pal I poked my little camera under his kilt and took a photo,
just for fun. Amusingly, when the flash went off the whole (not hole)
of his kilt lit up like a lampshade.
The resulting photo did show his entirely naked wedding-tackle.
Having only glanced at it briefly (shock, horror) I promptly bestowed
the photo on his new good lady wife, along with the negative.
I swear I shall not do that again.
