I'm sure you remember that on February 16 Lithuania celebrates the declaration, by a Congress at Vilnius at the end of WWI, that Lithuania would be independent, subject to neither Germany nor Russia.
Now here's the other "independence day", the day of the restoration (some translations say "restitution") of independence of Lithuania (Lietuvos nepriklausomybės atkūrimo diena), 11/3/1990, after 50+ years of the USSR.
