"ss", "s" and "ß"; for example, "dass", "Bus", and "buß".

"Buß" is a noun (so, I should have written "Buß"), a variant of
"Buße" (repentance). Today, it is more common as a syllable in
words such as "Bußgeld" or "Bußtag".
