- ٰIsraelis are saying the drone was made by Iran, I don't think the reason is they're ignorant. So they're simply lying. Wikipedia by the way lies about this, because material there is probably edited by a bunch of Israelis.
They must be thinking, "Who cares."
0wsThat's why I think their mind misses a dimension. There are people in the world that care! But that dimension in Jews in general was gradually lost by 2000 years of living among savage cro-magnons in Europe. It got _lathed_ out of them.
So lying has become a principle for them, it looks like. One of the foundations of living, as well as everything in politics and media.
Anyone who knows something about Houthis know that they went through ways of increasing range from the beginning of their grossly unfair and imposed "war" with Saudis and Emaratis. Saudis and Emarati targets, the two countries that were bombing them daily for years, were too far away from them. The ones worth hitting were all at the edge of the Persian Gulf, and not anywhere closer to them.
So they messed with their scuds in various ways to make them long range, but found out none of them reached their targets before getting shot down anyway. Patriot systems wouldn't let that happen. And they were so inaccurate and slow.
It was them, the Houthis, who first discovered that the solution was in drones, not missiles. Because a lot of targets didn't need that much explosive power to begin with. And after messing with all sorts of drone designs, they found that Samad would give them the range they needed. And they perfected them.
This is when they hit Aramco by the way :) They were right. They only needed 11 drones in that operation to get immense results. From then on, Saudi and Emaratis bombings became measured and sporadic, few and far in between :-) Then stopped!
So this "Samad" drone is probably something that Iran learned from Houthis, not vice versa. I don't even know what original design inspired them to make it. Russian Orion drones sure look like Samad but they are huge compared with Samad. They're so large that they shoot their own missiles at their targets.
Perhaps Israelis themselves had a design like Samad and Houthis picked that up as something to start with.
But Houthis were involved in it first and only then Iran also made a few of them.
Perhaps they are mistaking Samad with the 358. That, was Iranian design (reverse engineered from a Russian design, then modified significantly) and a few were given to Houthis so they'd improve upon. It is a hybrid of surface to air missile and a loitering munition. Houthis needed them to hit large Nazi drones and Saudi helicopters with them. Any slow moving thing that posed a danger to them. They're still hitting expensive Nazi drones with them.
What hit Tel Aviv had nothing to do with Iran.
