failed existing US railguns. Their efficiency going by facts told to
Arindam at an international conference was very low, with too much heat
loss due to ohmic loss in the barrel and conductors. Arindam's design
using the heavy armature and much lower voltages cuts down the heat
losses by a 1000 times at least, making it practical for many
engineering applications.
