Mentioning skin color is a such a blatant no-no nowadays, that only
the most clueless would evoke it. OTOH T.O. has seen more subtle
versions of that line of reasoning, ex. gaslighting transgenders,
atheists, and other POVs different from their own.

Just FYI, most transgender people prefer to be described as, well,
"transgender people." Or "transgender folks," if you like. The thinking
is describing minoritized folks with just an adjective ("transgenders,"
"Blacks," et cetera) can be a bit dehumanizing.

Ok, no insult meant, none taken.
OTOH gaslighting transgender people is dehumanizing.
